Our first EP “The Paper Hearts” was released about 6 years ago on Clunk Records. It sold out rather quickly and we’ve been meaning to re-release it ever since.

It’s fairly safe to say at this point that we’ll never actually get around to doing so, therefore, we’ve uploaded all of the MP3s to music page and you can grab them there if you’d like.

We’ve also added a few extra tracks from the other two releases and our MySpace page now has a couple of demos that aren’t available anywhere else. Enjoy!

Hey, here’s some fun show news if you live in the Kansas City area:

Don’t miss Aaron Weidner (The Paper Hearts & The New Tragedies) along with Cory Branan at Davey’s Uptown in Kansas City, MO next Wednesday night, December 6th.

The show is from 8pm sharp to 10pm and it’s only $5.

Aaron’s gonna be playing some Paper Hearts tunes so don’t miss out, ya’ll. Cool?

Paper Hearts Goodies at New Scratch

New Scratch is a label owned by our good friend, Bill Krejci. He’s originally from Northwest Arkansas but has been on the road with Lucero for a couple of years now. On the side, he runs New Scratch and only sells music/merchandise from his most favorite bands.

He has recently begun selling Paper Hearts t-shirts and digital downloads of all three releases so if you’ve never heard the original EP from 2001, head on over to New Scratch and pick up a copy along with a t-shirt (or two…or three). They make great gifts…(hint).

We’ll be getting together again on October 12 to play at the Dickson Theater in Fayetteville, AR. It may be your last chance to see us for a while so get some good sleep Wednesday night and tell your boss you won’t be worth a damn on Friday morning (yep, the show’s on a Thursday).

Also playing is Drag The River from Colorado and they’re muy excelente so come on out and celebrate not only a fun show but also the birth of the notorious Dave Morris.

Friday night’s show was super fun. Thanks to everyone who came out to The Gyspy and also to The New Tragedies and Bryce Harrison & The Rumors Are True.

If you’re in the Kansas City area, don’t forget about the show this Saturday (July 29) at The Brick. We’ll be opening up for The New Tragedies so it should be another great night.

We’re playing a couple of shows next month with The New Tragedies.

In case you’re not aware of it, The New Tragedies is Aaron and Beverly Weidner of Kansas City, MO. Aaron was a co-founder and singer/songwriter for The Paper Hearts back in the day. As a matter of fact, nearly half of our recorded songs were written by Aaron so if you’re a fan of ours, you’re guaranteed to be a New Tragedies fan as well. We highly suggest that you head over to their official site or even their MySpace page and check out their music.

Circles (acoustic)

Some of ya’ll have requested to hear a recorded version of “Circles” that isn’t as fast as the one on the CD. Although we don’t actually have a recorded version of the way we play it live, there is an acoustic version of it that Todd recorded at the Lucero house in Memphis a couple of years ago. You guys rule. Seriously. We knew there would be a good turnout at the show the other night but we had no idea that so many of you would come out specifically to see us. Apparently about 100 of you left right after we finished which is super exciting and completely unexpected. In total, there were over 525 people crammed into the Dickson Theater and according to the owner, that is the most people that have ever been in there at once.
